Wakeboarder Skill Levels
Level 0
Beginner - Have never tried wakeboarding but willing to learn!
Level 1 On land, can demonstrate: the seven skier signals, placing feet in bindings and adjust, holding the handle properly, proper body position for starting, proper body position whil riding. Explain five of the 15 skier Safety Codes.
Level 2 Complete a deep-water start and maintain the proper wakeboard body position for three seconds.
Level 3 Maintain proper body position for 60 seconds.
Level 4 Steer back and forth in control inside the wakes.
Level 5 Leave the center of the boat wakes on one side and the return to the center of the boat wakes one time.
Level 6 Leave the center of the boat wakes on one side and then return to the center of the boat wakes four times.
Level 7 Leave the center of the boat wakes on the other side and then return to the center of the boat wakes four times.
Level 8 Outside the boat wakes, carve smooth S-turns for 60 seconds by riding the board from one edge to the other. Tighten your S-turns as you ride to develop better board control.
Level 9 From outside the wake, cross both boat wakes four times under control.
Level 10 Inside the wakes, hop and pull the wakeboard out of the water (a.k.a. ollie) six times in control. Keep the handle down and pull from your body.
Level 11 Jump over one side of the boat wakes. The wakeboard fin must clear the wake .
Level 12 Hop or slide the board to a backward (switch), or fakie, position and hold it for 30 seconds.
Level 13 Inside the boat wakes, ride in the backward (switch) position and hold for 30 seconds.
Level 14 Outside the boat wakes, ride in the backward position and cross both wakes.
Level 15 Jump over both boat wakes without the board fin touching the top of the wakes.
